Open Enrollment

 

2019-2020 Open Enrollment Information

Open Enrollment will begin on August 26, 2019 and will end on September 23, 2019.  Open Enrollment is the ONLY time during the year when insurance changes can be made.   Only during this period may you transfer from one medical and/or dental carrier to another or add eligible dependents not already covered by your insurance plan.  All changes, including transfers and additions, will be effective October 1, 2019. 

The following dependents may be added to your coverage at any time of the year within thirty-one (31) days following a qualifying event: 1) newborns; 2) legally adopted children; 3) new spouses/domestic partners.  

For your convenience, you can make changes to your benefits elections during Open Enrollment in the following ways:

  1. logging onto the EASE system
  2. accessing a Benefits Enrollment Form via the District website under Open Enrollment – Forms
  3. attending an Open Enrollment session (see schedule below)

All completed forms must be returned to Rita Encalada, Employee Benefits Technician, no later than September 23, 2019. 

Open Enrollment sessions will be held from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on the following dates:

(*This session will include free biometric screenings and flu shots with advanced registration with the code Hawthorne2019.)

At the Open Enrollment sessions listed above, representatives from AFLAC and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union will be available to discuss flexible spending accounts, 403(b)s, Roth 403(b)s, 457s, tax-sheltered annuities, and other supplemental plans.
